Summary:
The Lead Receiving and Store Clerk has responsibility and accountability for all MRO parts, supplies, and equipment.
This position is responsible for duties such as managing the MRO cycle count and supporting corporate price control initiatives.
Working from general verbal and written instructions and according to established operating procedures, performs the following duties while cooperating with all levels within the organization in support of the four Johns Manville core values:
People, Passion, Performance and Protection.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

) Uses safe work practices including the use of eye, ear, hand, respiratory, and foot protection as needed.
Keeps equipment and work areas clean and orderly at all times by following the principles of 5S.
Works in a professional manner with all employees.
Researches and answers questions on the daily production report concerning inventory and purchasing.
Researches repairable parts to determine whether cost-effective to repair, or to discard and order new.
Manages and maintains inventory accuracy service level metrics (cycle count).
Works with planners, maintenance, and engineering on Storeroom initiatives (picking/kitting, bill of materials, min/max levels, etc.
).
Validates MRP auto-reorder of parts for purchaser/buyer.
Reviews and manages proper min/max levels and economic order quantities using history, cost, lead times, and criticality.
Researches inventory shortages and stock-outs for cause and effect and readjusts min/max levels if necessary to eliminate shortages.
Maintains bill of materials in SAP hierarchy to make sure proper parts are tied to correct assets, and ties new parts to proper equipment in SAP hierarchy.
Reviews requests for new stock items and calculates proper min/max levels.
Monitors new material coming into plant to ensure that the proper SDS is present and forwarded to Environmental Manager.
Follows the Lean Production method using 5S Control Procedures covered under 5S Procedures and Guidelines.
Assumes responsibility/accountability for inventory accuracy.
Identifies obsolete and inactive parts and purges from Storeroom.
Scrubs parts that are being requested as new inventory items against existing inventory to eliminate duplicate part records.
Writes SAP (ZMRO) records for new inventory parts.
Maintains PIR and master data in SAP.
Researches and rectifies data such as costs, shortage costs, lead time, economic order quantities, and unit of measure.
Fills in for the Purchasing Supervisor to order MRO items.
Authorized to ship and receive precious metals.
Serves as McPherson Plant Materials Team Lead; facilitates Material Team Meetings each Tuesday.
Meets and talks with vendors on inventory and vendor service issues.
Determines whether obsolete/inactive parts can be returned to vendor, transferred to another plant, or purged.
Researches over-max parts to determine whether to keep until used, to send back to vendor, or to purge to proper inventory level.
Supervises, schedules, and coordinates tasks for five (5) Storeroom Clerks on a daily basis; annually, writes and presents subordinates' work evaluations.
Enters and approves scheduled and overtime hours in ADP for Storeroom Clerks; reviews and approves vacation requests.
Completes requirements for safety meeting, behavioral audits, and CBT courses.
Provides training in SAP for new users.
Requests quotes from vendors upon instruction from Maintenance, Engineering and/or Purchasing departments.
Enters change of vendor upon request Works with the corporate MRO department on inventory consolidation and changes.
Assist other plants' storeroom/purchasing departments with inventory help and needs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
