CHS has an exciting opportunity at our Oil Refinery facility in McPherson, Kansas. We are looking for a Accountant to join our team. You must be a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work in both a team environment and on self-directed tasks are necessary.

You will:
Maintain accurate fixed asset records; record additions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation on fixed asset system monthly.
Track, monitor, and report costs on capital and large maintenance projects.
Complete various month-end journal entries and supporting schedules.
Prepare month-end reconciliations for various balance sheet and bank accounts.
Prepare monthly financial statements and analysis.
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
Responsible for the sales/use taxes.
Responsible for the property taxes.
Performs other duties as requested or needed.
Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Basic
Qualifications: (required)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university
5 plus years of progressive accounting
Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel)
Preferred
Qualifications: (desired)
CPA, CMA, or MBA
Oil & Gas industry experience
Experience with JD Edwards and SAP
Corporate income tax experience
