Financial Manager

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Refinery Finance division. We are looking for a Financial Manager to manage compliance (including SOX), insurance and income tax as well as other special projects. You must have excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills, be able to lead and make strategic decisions, and have the ability to effectively motivate, train, and influence staff. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and proven ability to lead staff while working calmly and effectively in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
You will:

  • Effectively lead consolidation and reporting efforts, including:



  • Monthly consolidation of US GAAP & management financials

  • KPI reporting

  • Monthly sales reporting & forecasting

  • Annual budgeting & quarterly forecasting

  • Balance sheet compilation with debt/equity adjustments

  • Monthly allocations (GCS & other)

  • Account reconciliations



  • Effectively manage, motivate and develop the accounting staff, including: accruals, P&Ls, balance sheets, taxes and SOX, etc.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial (i.e. SOX) and regulatory control frameworks for business unit locations.

  • Drive consistent accounting practices and reporting of results in areas of focus (domestic & GCS), including standard application and consistent categorization of financial line items (Sales, COGS, Freight, SG&A, etc.).

  • Assist departments with improving functionality, responsiveness to both external and internal customers, risk management and reporting.

  • Support a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.


Basic
Qualifications: (required)


  • Bachelor's or equivalent degree in accounting

  • 7 plus years progressive experience in accounting

  • 5 plus years progressive experience with manufacturing/ cost accounting: transactions, reporting and overall principles

  • 5 plus years progressive experience supervising

  • Advanced knowledge of business systems & processes, financial accounting principles (US GAAP), control structures (SOX), and effective work flow management

  • Database knowledge and data standards discipline

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel


Preferred
Qualifications: (desired)


  • MBA or similar degree

  • CPA, CMA, or similar certification(s)

  • Progressive experience to include:

  • Multi-location accounting & consolidation

  • Experience in the oil & gas industry

  • Experience with income tax

  • SAP and/or JD Edwards systems experience

  • Strong business intelligence reporting tool experience


Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
