Sr Planning Logistics Manager

The Sr Planning Manager reports to the Director of Product Supply.  This role will provide leadership and have overall responsibility for the Planning Team at the McPherson site.  Primary responsibilities include:   Managing talent and developing skills to enhance capabilities of Team Buying & planning of raw materials, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) & components to support production requirements Master scheduling of filling & packaging lines for Pfizer and PC1 products Partnering with Above-Site Planning (ASP) and Brand Supply Leads (BSL) to align on production schedules, budget processes and performance metrics Leading the Site Operations Plan (S&OP) and volume forecasting activities Identifying and implementing plans to mitigate supply interruptions Managing inventory of raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods, including identyfing areas of optimization Leading the Material Review Board (MRB) Coordinating the implementation of new artwork Managing the SAPmaster data Owning and executing system & business process improvements for the Materials Resource Planning (MRP) system The Sr Planning Manager will be responsible for the succesful implementation of the SAP Planning/MRP Modules at the McPherson site. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES People Management Provide day-to-day direction to a Team of Buyers/Planners, Schedulers, Coordinators, Project Specialists and Analysts Set a vision for the Team and drive high performance to achieve objectives Assess people talent/skils against job requirements and develop plans to close gaps  Create a safe work environment that values dirversity and inclusion Guide the Team through appropriate application of technical knowledge to troubleshoot activities, analyze data, and identify/implement improvements Execute HR processes (staffing, development planning, talent assessment, performance management, succession planning, discipline, recognition) Create annual expense budgets and successfully execute against the budget Buying & Planning Manage and coordinate the placement of purchase orders for all procured items in support of production schedules Partner with Procurement to improve overall supplier performance, identify plans to mitigate supply issues, and meet Price Per Variance (PPV) targets Maintain an accurate JDE/SAP MRP System and identify opportunities to improve business processes Establish appropriate safety stock levels to ensure inventory coverage of procured items, including new product introductions/launches Maintain compliance to DEA quota requirements on all controlled drug purchases Master Scheduling Manage the development and coordination within the established frozen period of a daily and weekly production schedule for Pfizer and PC1 products Partner with Above Site Planning to ensure volume forecast is aligned with demonstrated capacities and operational performance Assure maintenance of an accurate production schedule for all production areas (filling, inspection, labelling, packaging) Ensure optimization of plant assets (e.g. lyo units) Own the Site Operations Plan (S&OP) volume forecasting process, and lead governance meetings to review performance against plan Develop a production plan in support of new product introductions/launches Establish schedule attainment and customer service metrics, measure plan against performance, and identify improvement actions Inventory Management Manage the creation of the Site inventorybudget in partnership with Finance and Above Site Planning Establish business processes to ensure Site meets inventorybudget, identify opportunities to optimize inventory and follow up on action plans Assure a Material Review Board is routinely conducted to review status of aging inventory, and generation of Material Destruction Orders (MDOs) in compliance with Corporate and Site procedures Manage the return goods authorization and vendor credits processes Partner with Logistics/Warehouse and Operations to assure accurate inventory management of raw materials, work-in-process  and finished goods quantities Artwork Coodination & SAP Master Data Management Manage the implementation of new artwork to meet all Agency commitments and market requirements for Pfizer and PC1 products Assure coordination of artwork development by Artwork Center is aligned with implementation timelines and customer expectations Establish a review process in compliance with Site procedures to ensure 100% correctness before new artwork implementation Minimize financial exposure from obsolete artwork due to new artwork implementation Assure maintenance of the master data in SAP Establish business processes to ensure SAPmaster data is 100% accurate Ensure new Bill of Material (BOM) effective dating and implementation are in sync with operations QUALIFICATIONS 7+ years experience with BA/BS or 5+ years experience with Masters/PHD in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering working in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical experiencepreferred) Minimum of 3 years experience at managerial level successfully leading and transforming teams 1-3 years experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, particularly drug product production desired.  Experience participating in audits and interacting with regulatory agencies desired APICS certification desired SAPexperiencedesired Effective written and oral communication skills including presentation skills. 4724184
